Emilie Collyer

EmilieCollyerEmilie Collyer writes plays, fiction and poetry. Theatre awards and shortlistings of note include: The Good Girl (Green Room Nomination, Independent Theatre, Writing 2013 & Winner Best Emerging Writer Melbourne Fringe 2013), Dream Home (shortlisted Edward Albee Scholarship 2012 and Patrick White Award 2013), Promise (Winner George Fairfax Award 2000, Highly Commended Patrick White Award 2000), Argonauta (Winner Young Playwright’s Award 1997).

Emilie’s plays have been produced by ABC Radio National, The Victorian Arts Centre and St Martins among others. She has been supported by Melbourne Theatre Company, Playbox, Australia Council, Arts Victoria, Ian Potter Foundation, Varuna Writers Centre, ANPC and Playworks. In 2014-15 she was part of the Malthouse Besen Writers Program. Dream Home will premier in 2015 as part of Darebin Arts Speakeasy.

Her prose and poetry have won and been shortlisted for numerous awards including the 2012 Scarlet Stiletto 2nd overall prize and twice winning the cross-genre category (2012 & 2013). Emilie’s fiction, poetry and essays have appeared in anthologies including Allegory (USA), Cosmic Vegetable (USA), Thirteen Stories (AUS) and many literary journals.

Her first e-collection of short stories A Clean Job and other stories was published with Clan Destine Press in 2013 and a second collection released in late 2014. She published an illustrated book of poetry Your Looking Eyes in 2011.

Emilie is a graduate of Professional Writing and Editing Diploma at RMIT and Masters in Writing for Performance at VCA, University of Melbourne. You can see more about her work at:
