Development Banner 2017

Playlab’s Development program is designed to create a pathway for a play to move from inception to the stage. There is a clear trajectory from the emerging playwrights program Incubator, into Alpha Processing, and into production. The pathway also provides multiple entry points for a work at any level of readiness, and from playwrights of any level of experience. The ultimate objective is to increase the quantity, quality and diversity of playwrights in Queensland, and consequently provide audiences with stories of diversity and excellence.

Playlab is pleased to be able to offer a broader range of support to the industry in the form of Creative Services, and Rehearsal Room and Writers Room hire. While our Professional Development and Education Programs provide additional skill building opportunities for educators and creatives.

If you’re interested in engaging with Playlab or need creative and/or professional advice, please don’t hesitate to contact us and organise a meeting, we would love to hear about your work and aspirations for it. We're here to build theatre that matters.
